Editorial policy: sources, review and corrections

How we select sources

We prioritise institutional sources: the Ministry of the Interior, the Polizia di Stato and Questure, the Immigration Portal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labour, Prefetture and Comuni, social security and tax agencies, and European Union institutions.

• A source is never cited unless it belongs to a public institution or an official body.
• Every link is verified: when an official page moves, we update the source registry.
• We do not copy government texts: we explain procedures in our own words and link to the original source.
• We do not present blogs, forums or commercial sites as primary sources of rules or requirements.

How we verify information

Every page states the date of the last editorial review and the sources consulted. When a rule changes, we update the page, the related tools and the source registry, and we update the date.

We state our limits openly: when a figure (for example a processing time) is not officially published, we do not invent it and we explain why it is unavailable.

How we handle corrections and reports

• Error reports are welcome and are checked against the official source.
• If a report is valid, we correct the content and update the review date.
• If the official source does not confirm the report, we explain why the content is unchanged.
• We do not change content for commercial or ranking reasons.

Official sources remain authoritative
